Marcello Mastroianni interpreta Guido Anselmi, un affermato regista che sta elaborando il suo prossimo film mentre trascorrere un periodo di riposo in una stazione di cure termali. Federico Fellini (1920-1993), uno dei maggiori registi della storia del cinema, è stato attivo per quarant'anni, dal 1950 al 1990, realizzando diciannove film in cui ha "ritratto" una piccola folla di personaggi memorabili. Definiva sé stesso "un artigiano che non ha niente da dire, ma sa come dirlo". Ha lasciato opere ricche di satira e velate di una sottile malinconia, caratterizzate da uno stile onirico e visionario. I titoli dei suoi più celebri film - I vitelloni, La strada, Le notti di Cabiria, La dolce vita, 8½, Giulietta degli spiriti e Amarcord - sono diventati temi iconici citati in tutto il mondo.

 

Marcello Mastroianni plays the role of Guido Anselmi, an established director who is working on his next film while he is spending a period of rest in a spa resort. But he can't get a moment's peace: with the people who have worked with him in the past constantly looking for more work, with his conscience, and the simple fact that he is unable to come up with a new idea. While thinking, he starts to recall major happenings in his life, and all the women he has loved and left... An autobiographical Fellini, about the trials and tribulations of film making, on the trials and tribulations of loving and being loved.

Federico Fellini (1920-1993), one of the greatest directors in the history of cinema, was active for forty years, from 1950 to 1990, making nineteen films in which he "portrayed" a small crowd of memorable characters. He defined himself as "a craftsman who has nothing to say, but knows how to say it". He left behind works rich in satire and veiled with a subtle melancholy, characterized by a dreamlike and visionary style. The titles of his most famous films - I vitelloni, La strada, Nights of Cabiria, La dolce vita, 8½, Juliet of the Spirits and Amarcord - have become topoi cited all over the world.
