Un bel principe cavalca un cavallo volante verso terre lontane e si imbarca in avventure magiche, tra cui l'amicizia con una strega, l'incontro con Aladino, la lotta contro i demoni e l'innamoramento di una principessa.

Lotte Reiniger (1899-1981) è stata una regista e animatrice tedesca, celebre per la tecnica delle silhouette. Tra i suoi lavori: Silhouetten (1936), Der Graf von Carabas (1935) and Lotte Reiniger - The Fairy Tale Films (1961).

 

LA SONORIZZAZIONE

Earthset è un quartetto alt-rock bolognese composto da Luigi Varanese, Costantino Mazzoccoli, Emanuele Orsini ed Ezio Romano, insieme dal 2012. Dopo l’esordio del 2015 con In a State of Altered Unconsciousness, nel 2018 realizzano la sonorizzazione del film muto L’Uomo Meccanico, pellicola italo-francese del 1921 restaurata dalla Cineteca di Bologna. Su commissione del Soundscreen Film Festival di Ravenna, producono il cine-concerto per il film Nosferatu di Murnau, presentato in esclusiva all’edizione 2020 del Festival, mentre nell'edizione 2022 portano in sala una inedita sonorizzazione de La Terra del 1930 di Aleksandr Dovženko. Dopo l'acclamato album in studio Bound, per la Dischi Bervisti, lo scorso mese di ottobre la band rilascia, con la stessa etichetta, Nosferatu, LP contenente le musiche scritte per l’omonimo film di Murnau, in una versione ridotta e adattata per l’ascolto senza supporto visivo. Il disco è accolto con favore dalla critica di settore. Achmed il principe fantastico è una produzione originale per il Soundscreen 2024.

Lotte Reiniger (1899-1981) was a German film director and animator, famous for her silhouette technique. Her works include: Silhouetten (1936), Der Graf von Carabas (1935) and Lotte Reiniger - The Fairy Tale Films (1961).

 

THE LIVE SCORE

Earthset is an alt-rock quartet from Bologna, composed of Luigi Varanese, Costantino Mazzoccoli, Emanuele Orsini and Ezio Romano, together since 2012. After their debut in 2015 with In a State of Altered Unconsciousness, in 2018 they made the soundtrack for the silent film L'uomo meccanico (1921), an Italian-French film restored by the Cineteca di Bologna. Commissioned by the SSFF, they produce a new cine-concert for Murnau's film Nosferatu, presented exclusively at the 2020 edition of the Festival; while in the 2023 edition they bring to the theater an unreleased soundtrack of Earth, a 1930 film by Aleksandr Dovženko. After the acclaimed studio album Bound, for Dischi Bervisti, last October the band released, with the same label, Nosferatu, an LP containing the music written for Murnau's film, in a shortened version adapted for listening without visual support. The album was welcomed by industry critics. Achmed  is an original production for the Soundscreen 2024.
