Un tempo appassionato musicista, l'australiano Kell vive a Berlino con la sua compagna Amelie. Di fronte alla chiusura del suo studio musicale e la preoccupazione per un grosso neo che gli è comparso su una coscia, la vita dell'uomo prende una piega inaspettata: il vecchio amico ed ex compagno di band, Joe si presenta all'improvviso, convincendo Kell a unirsi a lui nell'onorare la morte di Viv, la loro ex cantante solista, che ha chiesto che i suoi resti venganosepolti al "Lorelei", una leggendaria e mistica roccia vicino alla sua città natale, sulle rive del Reno. 

 

Jack Rath è un regista, scrittore, montatore, attore e doppiatore australiano/svizzero che vive a a Berlino. Dopo una laurea in Arti presso RMIT Melbourne, Jack ha lavorato nell'industria australiana prima di trasferirsi a Berlino e qui stabilirsi nel 2000. Il primo cortometraggio tedesco di Jack, Olli, è stato proiettato in oltre quaranta festival internazionali e ha vinto numerosi premi. Il suo lungometraggio d'esordio è il documentario Between Home: Odyssey of an unusual sea bandit. Nel 2021-22 Jack ha ricevuto una borsa di studio Neustart Kultur per lo sviluppo di progetti dal governo federale tedesco che ha portato alla realizzazione e produzione del suo secondo lungometraggio Biscuit Tin Blues.

 

Once a passionate musician, the australian Kell lives in Berlin with his partner Amelie. Facing the demise of his music studio and fretting about a large mole that’s appeared on his thigh, his life takes an unexpected turn when Joe, an old friend and ex-bandmate, turns up out of the blue and Joe presses Kell to join him in honouring the death of Viv, their former lead singer, who requested that her remains be put to rest at the ‘Lorelei’ , a legendary, mystical rock near her home town, on the banks of the Rhein. 

 

Jack Rath is an Australian / Swiss director, writer, editor, actor and voice-over artist based in Berlin. Following a Bachelor of Arts at RMIT Melbourne, Jack worked in the Australian industry before moving to Berlin and settling in 2000. Jack’s first German short Olli played in over forty international festivals and went on to win prizes. His debut feature is the documentary Betwee Home: Odyssey of an unusual sea bandit . In 2021-22 Jack received a Neustart Kultur grant for project development from the German Federal Government which carried through to the production of his sophomore feature Biscuit Tin Blues.
