Alta Irpinia, today. Born in 1965 in Germany from a family of emigrants coming from Avellino province, the Italian songwriter Vinicio Capossela tells his return to that land, passionately looking for people and music. The “coppoloni” are the inhabitants of the village of Cariano, invested with divine aura because they live at the top of the mountains, closer to heaven but also to rain and snow, and therefore obliged to cover their head. The word “coppoloni” is so extended to all those who had to leave that land because of poverty.
